"After Hours" // Size 16" x 20"
Sand Art Photograph
Limited Edition of 50
Size 16” x 20” ( horizontal total paper )
Artist Statement about this work:
I was on the bridge for its 50th anniversary in 1986, when its gentle curve bent under the weight of 100,000 humans. I remember people throwing expensive bicycles over the side because they could no longer hold them over their heads in the depths of the crowd. I have spent a lot of time under the Golden Gate Bridge on a surfboard, “ebbing” and “flowing” along with the strongest current on the west coast of our continent. The power of the tides is one I have learned to respect. Drawing in the sand at low tide is always a unique experience that brings me closer to the places I love and cherish. Here, I offer you a new view of one of the most photographed landmark on earth. A freestyle drawing that was likely seen by very few people on this night, silently existing below the hustle and bustle of holiday traffic above, and only lasting for a few hours before the tide came back in. “International Orange” is the color of the most famous bridge on Planet Earth, it will always hold a place in my heart, and will always feel like home.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
